Mit Design Thinking zum Q Messe- und Jahresmotto.

Design Thinking Methoden wirken.

English Version:

Design thinking methods work. We have provided proof of concept more than once. Design sprints produce strategic innovations and can support teams in brainstorming. We do this with client teams on a regular basis.
After the great feedback on our stand last year, we were under quite a bit of pressure, because of course we want to inspire our guests at the succeet fair in 2023 as well. That's why we thought: what works for customers, we should also apply to ourselves.
Lena and Steffi conceived a Design Sprint and carried it out with us. Kim, Judith, Martin, Oliver and Sandra collected many ideas within a few hours and finally clustered and evaluated them.
Beforehand, we had a small homework assignment to prepare for the sprint. Our sprint challenge was: We want to find a viable (playable, evolving over the year) annual motto that is eye-catching and innovative, that can be combined well with marketing measures and a trade fair theme.
Here we go:
After the obligatory team check-in and the explanation of the agenda and the rules of the game, there was a short Ignite talk to set the mood. A presentation and evaluation of old, successful trade fair themes was the task.
After the presentation of the homework with a strict time limit, there was a first idea cluster session on the whiteboard. These findings and insights served as a framework and initial inspiration. A brainstorming round with analogies and inspiration cards provided a further flood of ideas. Bodystorming was important for a change of perspective and movement. In addition, we were able to benefit from each other's ideas through a joint idea-shopping session. This not only took the ideas further and sharpened them, but also had a group dynamic effect that should not be underestimated.
The final step was to cluster the ideas and find overarching themes. Phew, that was a heavy programme for one morning.
But through this we found our annual and fair motto in a very efficient creative process (yes, that's not a contradiction!). There were so many good ideas and clusters of ideas that we will probably draw on them for the next few years.
In any case, it was a nice process that was also a lot of fun for the team. Many thanks to Lena and Steffi for the conception and moderation!
Oh yes, do you want to know what our annual and fair motto has become? You'll have to wait a few more days...
