9 Obligation to Provide Data

If the required data is not provided, Q | Agentur für Forschung GmbH cannot provide the respective services, such as contacting you to answer questions.

10 Cookies, Consent Management, Google Tag Manager, and Google Analytics 4

10.1 Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies (e.g., tags) that are either technically necessary to provide the website or, with your consent, serve reach measurement/analysis purposes.

The storage of information on your end device or access to already stored information only occurs insofar as this is technically necessary or you have consented to it (in particular in accordance with the TTDSG). Subsequent processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the GDPR.

10.2 Consent Management with Usercentrics Cookiebot

We use Usercentrics Cookiebot as a consent management platform (cookie/consent banner). When you first visit our website (and subsequently according to your settings), you can select whether and which categories of cookies/technologies may be set.

Cookiebot stores and documents your selection (consent/refusal) and enables us to technically implement your decision. This processing serves to document your consent and to control the delivery of cookies/tags according to your selection.

Legal bases:

  • For obtaining, managing, and documenting your consent: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (fulfillment of legal obligations) and/or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in legally compliant consent management)

  • For setting/reading non-essential cookies: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent)

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with effect for the future via the cookie settings (in the banner or via the corresponding link/button on the website).

10.3 Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager to centrally manage and deploy website tags. Among other things, Google Analytics 4 and the consent signal from Cookiebot are integrated through it.

Google Tag Manager is used for tag management. Depending on the technical configuration, connection data (e.g., IP address) may be processed to deliver tags.

Legal bases:

  • For technically clean tag deployment and implementation of your selection: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in efficient and secure management of website tags)

  • Insofar as analysis tags are triggered via the Tag Manager only after consent: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent)

Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

10.4 Google Analytics 4

If you have consented, we use Google Analytics 4 to analyze the use of our website (e.g., page views, interactions). This enables us to improve the website, optimize content, and measure performance.

Integration: Google Analytics 4 is loaded via Google Tag Manager and only activated after your consent (“classic GA4 after consent”).

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

Data categories (typical):

  • Usage/interaction data (e.g., pages visited, click paths, scrolls, downloads)

  • Device/browser information (e.g., browser type/version, operating system, language)

  • Online identifiers (e.g., cookie identifiers)

  • IP address: According to Google, Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses of EU users during data collection.

Retention period: Data retention in Google Analytics 4 is configurable; details on data retention are provided by Google in the Analytics Help section.

Recipient / Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Third-country transfer: It cannot be ruled out that data may be transferred to third countries (e.g., USA) in the context of using Google services. Google refers to standard contractual clauses (SCCs) as appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings. After withdrawal, Google Analytics 4 will no longer be triggered; the lawfulness of processing carried out up to that point remains unaffected.
